Business Travel 2002 Set to be a Forum for Technological Innovation

Business Travel 2002, to be held at London`s Olympia from 5th -7th February is expected to be the biggest business show to date, serving as a platform for a multitude of initiatives to be launched into the business travel market.
“Industry commentators have been almost unanimous in the view that business travel activity will lead the regeneration of the global travel industry”,says Paul Robin, exhibition director for Business Travel 2002. “That commitment has been born out by the tremendous interest in, and enthusiasm for what promises to be our best show to date.”


As well as attracting a host of top-name exhibitors, Business Travel 2002 organisers have also signed up a string of other blue-chip supporters. The Times has been named as the shows official media sponsor, while Virgin Trains, which will be offering a free upgrade to first class for standard open ticket holders travelling to Business Travel 2002, has been signed up as an official Business Travel 2002 partner.


The show already in it`s eighth year is once again set to be a success. With over 200 of the World - leading travel suppliers exhibiting, including 50 brand new exhibitors for 2002 the show is expecting to attract over 6,500 business travellers, buyers, managers and arrangers of company travel from all over the UK and Europe.


More than one in five exhibitors at Business Travel 2002 will be showcasing brand new products and services. With at least 20 new high-tech travel management tools, along with a host of new an upgraded sites, systems and solutions expected to make their debut at the show, along with details of no fewer than five new air services. Four airlines - Air China, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines- will be showcasing upgraded inflight products.

Business Travel 2002 will also set the stage for the opening of more than 30 new hotels, from Milton Keynes to Montreal and from Sheffield to Sharjah, and for four completely new conference products.


And if that wasn`t enough to attract a record number of visitors, the show will also act as the launch platform for Virgin`s Pendolini tilting trains!
“Since its inception eight years ago, the Business Travel exhibitions have consistently provided a unique annual forum for business and corporate travel suppliers to promote their products to a discerning audience of decision-makers and key media”, says Exhibition Director Paul Robin.

Many of the new offerings will be technology solutions, and the majority of travel management companies participating will be launching new techno-products - but there are a host of other launches too including:-
-TQ3 Travel Solutions - TQ3 is keeping its new product under wraps until the day before the show and following it through to the show with even more promotion. The top-secret innovation will be on display the company`s stand.

-Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts will be launching its new conference Inclusive package, a one-stop shop for guests booking meetings

-Choice Hotels Europe will be launching its new business Class product available to all guests across all their 90 hotels in UK & Ireland. The service includes accommodation, all meals, phone call home, mineral water in the room and a newspaper.

-Central Apartments - The Ascott Group of Singapore and Crown Dilmun, the parent company of Central Apartments will be promoting the recent announcement of the signing of a joint venture agreement, making them the largest serviced apartment operator in the UK, Europe and the Far East.

-Galileo International -In addition to promoting its portfolio of corporate/business solutions, Galileo will be publicising its new multi-language pan-European corporate booking tool for SMEs Galileo Special Agent.

-Qjump -Qjump.co.uk, the new online rail ticketing service launched by the National Express Group in September 2001, will be unveiling details of Qjump For Business, a service specifically for the business traveller, providing a fast, reliable and convenient booking service.
