today announced its creation of the first-ever Charter Air Booking Engine (CABE), a real-time searchable database of charter airfares. This development allows other travel Web sites, as well as consumers, to conveniently access charter airfare online without a GDS.
Nearly 35,000 charter flight options are seamlessly combined in the search process to offer an alternative to published and negotiated fares.
The CABE system has been integrated into 11thHourVacations’ consumer site, allowing users to easily bundle charter air with their land-only vacation packages, or purchase charter air tickets as a stand-alone item. This development provides travelers access to more faring options at lower prices, especially to popular vacation destinations.
The company also plans to incorporate the CABE system into OneTravel.com’s airfare booking engine, FareBeater‰. OneTravel.com, parent company of 11thHourVacations.com, plans to add this database within the first quarter. Similar to 11thHourVacations’ implementation, charter flights will be conveniently returned in the same search with published and negotiated faring options. This integration will make the CABE system accessible to over 3.5 million consumers per month, with additional reach extended to more than 8,000 partner Web sites.
In addition to this consumer-site integration, the CABE system is also available for business-to-business applications. By licensing the proprietary CABE system, other online travel businesses can use the database to access schedules, pricing, and availability as well as book charter flights in real time.
“For the first time in the industry, a charter air database is accessible to online travel retailers,” states Mike Putman, president of 11thHourVacations.com. “It’s easy to integrate, no maintenance, and provides more robust faring options.”
