Worldspan Delivers Low Fare Search Solution for Online Travel Market

Worldspan has announced the launch of Worldspan FareAwareSM, exclusive new fare search technology that offers online users a fast, easy way to find the lowest fare when price is most important and schedules are flexible. Launched first on clarkhoward.com, hosted by Cox Radio Interactive, FareAware allows online travel customers to find and book low fare flights with confidence.

“Consumers with flexible schedules sometimes hesitate to book a flight, thinking they’ll find a better fare if they wait a week or a month. FareAware is designed to get those folks flying rather than waiting,” commented Paul J. Blackney, president and chief executive officer for Worldspan. “With FareAware, consumers have all the information they need to find and book the best value fares without hesitation and without spending hours researching numerous travel sites. This exciting new functionality will help consumers find the fare they want, buy the ticket, and feel confident making that purchase.”

Low airfares are usually limited in volume, Blackney added, so if consumers use this tool regularly, they have the best opportunity of seeing low fares as soon as they become available.

FareAware displays the day’s lowest round trip fares for selected city pairs, while an interactive calendar shows the dates the fares are offered. The calendar interprets complex airline fare rules so the user doesn’t have to. And unlike other online fare search tools, Worldspan FareAware offers a 12-month fare history comparison displayed on an easy-to-read graph, so users can find the lowest fare and feel confident they are buying at the right time. With FareAware and its unique fare-history feature, a Worldspan exclusive, consumers are empowered to make more informed travel-purchase decisions.

Under a marketing agreement with Cox Radio Interactive, Worldspan will promote FareAware via the clarkhoward.com website, Clark Howard’s electronic newsletters, Internet broadcasts of The Clark Howard Show, and targeted radio ads. “Cox Radio is pleased to be able to include Worldspan in our portfolio of valued clients,” said Gregg Lindahl, vice president of Cox Radio Interactive.
