Interstate Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: IHR), the nation`s largest independent hotel management company, today announced the promotion of Alex Lombardo to vice president, finance. In his new position, he will be responsible for all corporate treasury and capital markets activities and will report to the company`s chief financial officer. Previously, he served in a dual role as assistant treasurer for Interstate and its sister company, MeriStar Hospitality Corporation.
“With 14 years of experience in accounting and finance, Alex has the financial skillset and level of expertise that ideally qualify him for this position,” said Steve Jorns, Interstate`s chief executive officer. “He already has a proven record of success at Interstate and MeriStar, where, as assistant treasurer, he successfully managed treasury functions for 300 hotels and arranged $1.5 billion in debt financing. His appointment allows us to leverage our existing talent and reward superior performance.”
Prior to joining Interstate in 1998, Lombardo served as cash manager for ICF Kaiser International, Inc., an international construction/consulting firm.
Lombardo holds a bachelor`s degree in business administration from James Madison University.
