Boyd Gaming Corporation today announced that Paul Chakmak, one of the
leading bankers to the gaming industry, will join the Company as its
Senior Vice President—Finance and Treasurer. This newly created
position at Boyd Gaming will report to Ellis Landau, the Company`s
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Commenting on the appointment, William S. Boyd, Chairman and Chief

Mr. Chakmak, 39, is leaving his position as Managing Director of CIBC
World Markets in its Los Angeles office. He has been the senior member of
the bank`s West Coast Leveraged Finance Group specializing in, among other
things, providing capital to and advising companies in the gaming industry.
