Palace Resorts hosts a benefit concert with internationally renowned tenor Placido Domingo at Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - in the archeological zone of Cancun - on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. A diverse group of local artists will also perform, including the Colegio Aleman`s chorus and the Talulah Ballet Company. All proceeds will benefit the Ciudad de la Alegria Foundation and will be used to build a facility for the terminally ill at the Ciudad de la Alegria in Cancun.
Placido Domingo, the recipient of eleven Grammys including two Latin Grammys, is expected to draw opera fans from around the world. The concert, which takes place on the Winter Solstice, will be the first time the tenor performs in a Mexican archeological area.

The Ciudad de la Alegria Foundation is a community assistance organization dedicated to providing assistance and lodging to people in need, including low-income individuals, orphans, expectant mothers, immigrants, rehabilitated legal offenders, and the terminally ill.
