Stathis Appointed at Paradise Island

Sharon McCabe Stathis, an 18-year veteran in the hospitality industry, has
been named National Sales Manager for the Sheraton Grand Resort Paradise
“Ms. Stathis comes to the property with a complete working knowledge of
the travel industry,” said Melissa Boyd, Director of Sales for the
340-room resort. “Indeed, she started her hospitality career with our
resort in 1985 when we were known as the Grand Hotel on Paradise Island.”

In addition to extensive resort sales experience in The Bahamas and
Florida Keys, Ms. Stathis has also worked in the cruise line industry. She
has covered virtually every phase of hospitality sales, including
incentive, group and tour and travel trade sales.

Ms. Stathis holds a degree in Travel Industry Administration from Broward
Community College in south Florida, and is a former member of the Board of
Directors of the South Florida Chapter of the Society of Incentive Travel
She will be working from the International Sales Office for the Sheraton
Grand Resort in Plantation, FL. Ms. Stathis joins a team of travel and
tourism professionals, including Ms. Boyd, Director of Sales for the
Sheraton Grand, who joined the resort earlier this year after being head
of sales for another major resort in Nassau.

In addition to her vast experience in Nassau, Ms. Boyd also has held top-
level sales positions at hotels, resorts and airlines in Jamaica and south
Florida where she helped develop branding, in addition to coordinating
tour operator contracting and handling various marketing components as
