Omni Berkshire Place Completes Renovation

PRNewswire NEW YORK Nov. 12 :

The Omni Berkshire Place Hotel, a historic flagship property in midtown
Manhattan, has undergone a $4 million enhancement to all guestrooms,
suites and guest corridors. The internationally acclaimed design firm,
Wilson & Associates, led the project.
“We are delighted to offer our guests a plush retreat,” said Offer
Nissenbaum, general manager of the Omni Berkshire. “The new room
appointments and guest corridor upgrades will continue to make the Omni
Berkshire Hotel the hotel of choice for business and leisure travelers who
frequent New York.”
Wilson & Associates has created remarkable interiors for hotels,
restaurants, clubs and casinos worldwide since 1975. The firm receives top
honors annually in design competitions for both new construction and
historical renovations. Wilson is the nine-time winner of the prestigious
American Hotel and Motel Association Gold Key Award for excellence in
hotel design, and industry peers chose the firm as most respected for work
in the field of hospitality design.

The property improvements at the Omni Berkshire Place started in 1995 with
a $50 million restoration of the guestrooms, meeting space and all public
areas. In early 2002, High Speed Internet access in all meeting rooms was
installed, followed by complimentary Wireless High Speed Internet Access
in all guestrooms. Omni Hotels was the first luxury hotel brand to go
across its network with free wireless access.

The hotel`s most recent guestroom and corridor enhancements include new
window treatments, linens, carpet, artwork and light that reflect a
residential style. The accommodations blend the transitional Beidermier-
inspired case goods with a 2003 color palette of gold tones, rich
chocolates, soothing sage and moss greens and accented with robin`s egg
blue. The guest enhanced environment extends to the corridor: painted wood
crown mold, casework and base mold mix with the high ceilings and
beautiful European Axminster carpeting, designed exclusively for the Omni
Berkshire.
Today, the Omni Berkshire Place remains the preferred home-away-from-home
for discerning world travelers. The AAA Four Diamond Omni Berkshire Place
Hotel features 396 guest rooms that are larger in scale for New York
standards, including 47 suites, and 6,500 square feet of meeting space, a
full-service business center and a private health club, two restaurants,
and guest room dining. Ideally located in midtown, this historic landmark
is within walking distance of the famed Madison Avenue shopping district,
Rockefeller Center, the Museum of Modern Art and St. Patrick`s Cathedral.
