PrinterOn Corporation, specialists in wireless and remote Internet printing, has witnessed an upsurge in demand for the convenience of in-room printing for hotel guests. This is evidenced by the 300% increase in the number of printed pages by hotel guests using PrinterOn services in the past three months.
Printing services for guests is a rapidly growing amenity as hoteliers respond to the increasing demand from business travelers to recreate office conveniences while traveling. The service is already offered to guests at 150 major North American brand hotels, including independent properties operating under such brand names as Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt, Radisson, Doubletree and Marriott.
“The number of guests using the printing service validates the need for guest printing. PrinterOn expects the usage to increase exponentially in the coming year. The unique property-branded driverless printing portal lets guests remotely print documents, emails, email attachments and Web content securely from their Internet-enabled laptops. A print job can be sent from the privacy of the guest`s room to a printer found in the hotel`s business center. Guests simply open a web browser and access the service using a branded printing web site. Guests can pick up their documents securely using their privacy code, or have the front desk deliver the documents to the room.
Demonstrations of the web-based printing browser will take place at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in New York, being held at the Jacob Javits Centre from November 8-11, booth 3174.
Attendees and press staying at the following New York City hotels can try the PrinterOn Guest printing service: Sheraton Manhattan, Radisson Lexington, Waldorf Astoria (currently in rooms with high-speed Internet access), and at the Plaza Hotel.
