Choice is a Fine Place to Work

Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE:CHH), one of the world`s largest lodging franchisors and the franchisor of the Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, MainStay Suites, Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn hotel brands, was selected as a 2002 “Great Place to Work” by The Washingtonian magazine, the monthly magazine of the nation`s capital.

According to The Washingtonian, “Choice Hotels was one of 50 organizations selected because of its interesting work, good benefits, collegial staff, stability, employee development and community involvement.” An article featuring Choice Hotels and 49 other “Great Places to Work” in the Washington area appears in The Washingtonian`s November 2003 issue.

“We are thrilled that The Washingtonian magazine selected Choice Hotels as one of 50 Great Places to Work,” said Tom Mirgon, senior vice president, human resources and administration. “At Choice Hotels, we strive to provide good benefits and a work environment that is interesting, fun and fulfilling to our employees. We know that employees are our most important resource and that recognizing and valuing them is good for business.”

Referring to Choice Hotels` corporate headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland as a “relatively small office with big-company perks,” the article highlighted employee benefits including an attractive cafeteria, fitness center with aerobics, yoga, spinning and kickboxing; a meditation room with a massage chair and waterfall, a reading room with books for employees to share and evening college courses offered at Choice`s corporate office.

Choice`s philanthropic efforts and community involvement was also cited. Through the Choice Hotels Foundation, Choice employees have adopted the Burnt Mills Elementary School in Silver Spring and some Choice employees knit blankets, hats and scarves for a local homeless shelter.
