HMSHost to Install mymicros.net in Over 1,700 Travel Restaurants

HMSHost Corporation, with concessions in 71 airports and 97 travel plazas
in North America, intends to install mymicros.net at over 1,700 retail
outlets and restaurants, with airport sites at Miami and Orlando going
live first. Developed by MICROS Systems, Inc. , the global leader in
information technology for hospitality management, mymicros.net software
enables management to access and distribute business intelligence from any
site in near real time.
An existing MICROS customer for over a decade, HMSHost`s new multi-year
agreement makes available the mymicros.net application at the MICROS
Hosting Center in Columbia, MD. “With mymicros.net, HMSHost expects to
have transaction-level operational data from each location up to a central
data warehouse every 15 minutes,” explained Martyn Holland, Senior Vice
President and CIO, HMSHost. “The central application will summarize and
translate this information and automatically forward this critical data to
various other central applications.”
HMSHost is continuing its long-time relationship with MICROS because the
Company`s advanced technology supports HMSHost`s corporate strategy. “Our
goal is to offer centralized support to all business units from one
location,” noted Mr. Holland. “We also use it to manage menu items and
taxes centrally. This will mean greater control over standardization
efforts resulting in better information flow to all aspects of the
business.”
HMSHost has relied on MICROS POS in their airport and travel plaza
operations since the early 1990s. Now, following several months of piloted
testing, HMSHost is poised to move forward with mymicros.net as the
“centerpiece” for collecting and distributing data across their enterprise.

“While an installation for an organization of this size, with this many
high volume revenue centers spread around the US and Canada, is a massive
undertaking, we are confident that MICROS`s mymicros.net software is up to
the challenge,” said J. Alan Hayman, Executive Vice President of
Restaurant Sales and Strategies, MICROS Systems. “HMSHost will benefit by
having a single tool and source for collecting data from and posting data
to all other corporate systems, and because users will have 24-hour access
to near real-time data, decision-making will clearly be more effective.”
