Mövenpick Hotel Zurich-Airport in Fresh Colours

In order to offer guests a contemporary hotel with functional and modern facilities, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is investing in extensive building work at the Mövenpick Hotel at Zurich-Airport, which should be completed by June 2004. The 335-room hotel located close to the motorway between Zurich and the airport will set a special tone at this location with its new appearance.

The facade will be given an all-round facelift in two stages to lend the business hotel consisting of three cube-shaped buildings a glamorous new image with light, bright and brilliant colours. The renovation work will be interrupted towards the end of November for technical reasons and to allow for the winter weather. It will probably be started again at the end of February. In addition to the redecoration work, all windows are to be replaced to guarantee superior sound insulation.
Whereas the congress centre with its 11 events and banqueting rooms was completely refurbished and modernised at the beginning of 2003, now the hotel rooms the building technology as well as the lift systems are in line for upgrading. Once the planning work has been completed, the lobby and the outer vestibule will also be subjected to an extensive upgrade.Ê

“The conversion work is an important investment in the future of our very busy Four Star business hotels”, is what Riet Pfister, manager of the Mövenpick Hotel at Zurich-Airport had to say. “Hotel operations will continue throughout the period in which the renovation work is being carried out and will not be disrupted. In the final analysis, the company policy of our hotel group is that the comfort of our guests takes top priority and the newly redecorated hotel rooms and the change in atmosphere will make a significant contribution to making guests feel comfortable in future as well”.
