Golden Nugget Hotel-Casino Appointment

Timothy Poster and Thomas Breitling, the entrepreneurs who are purchasing the Golden Nugget hotel-casinos in Las Vegas and Laughlin from MGM MIRAGE, Inc., today announced the appointment of longtime gaming industry veteran Chris Andrews as Director of Race and Sports Book Operations for the two properties.
Chris Andrews will assume his duties at the properties once the purchase is approved by state gaming regulatory authorities, licenses are issued and the purchase is consummated.
“Chris Andrews is hands down the best race and sports operator in the gaming industry. His experience and knowledge of traditional bookmaking skills make him a perfect fit for our new operation,” said Poster, Chairman and CEO of Poster Financial Group, Inc. (PFG) in Las Vegas. “Upon licensure and acquisition, when we assume ownership of the Golden Nugget, our race and sports operations will be a major hub for bettors across the state.”
Currently vice president of race and sports book operations with the Club CalNeva in Reno, Andrews said he is excited about joining Poster and Breitling. He joined the CalNeva in 1981 as race and sports book manager; in the intervening years, he grew the business from a two-window book to 20 locations throughout Nevada. Andrews holds a bachelor`s degree in business management from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.
With Breitling, Poster founded the revolutionary travel website Travelscape.com in 1998, which they sold in 2000 to Expedia.com. The pair is purchasing the Golden Nugget properties with the hopes of reviving Las Vegas` “glory days” of individual casino ownership and personalized service. PFG hopes to receive state gaming regulatory approval of the Golden Nugget purchase by the end of 2003.
