Hip Hotel Resumes Alcoholic Beverage Service

Alcoholic beverage service by wait staff resumes in the pool, outdoor-dining and patio areas of Viceroy and Whist in Santa Monica. The temporary ban on service has been lifted, and Viceroy patrons are free to enjoy cocktails on the patio and in Whist`s outdoor dining areas.
“We are so appreciative of the support and flexibility of our loyal Viceroy patrons,” said Kate Bartolo, senior vice president of development. “The city`s unanimous vote to approve our conditional use permit was a reflection of the neighborhood`s outpouring of support.”
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board followed the city`s approval and has elected to renew Viceroy`s ability to continue serving alcohol on the patio, as had been done since the hotel`s opening. The hiatus on alcoholic beverage service to outdoor areas resulted when Viceroy learned of a snafu in the previous hotel operator`s alcoholic licensing structure. The ABC board recommended the hotel reapply under adjusted licensing.
Since its opening in July 2002, Viceroy has quickly become one of Los Angeles` dining and entertaining hot spots, offering everything from fine dining to intimate poolside cocktails. With the hotel`s adjusted liquor license, guests will once again be able to enjoy all that Viceroy has to offer with the utmost in service and convenience.
Located at the crossroads of Ocean Avenue and Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica, and named one of the 50 hottest hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveler`s 2003 “Hot List,” Viceroy is an urban retreat at the shore overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
