The world’s first custom-built Yacht Hote

The world’s first custom-built yacht hotel offers business travellers and holidaymakers a truly unique accommodation experience on a par with the world’s very finest cruise liners.  Set within a breathtaking waterfront environment, the Sunborn epitomises luxury, providing a unique retreat from the noise and bustle of the city, while within easy reach of all its attractions.  A five-minute taxi drive from London City Airport, eight minutes from Canary Wharf by Dockland Light Railway, and extensive parking facilities mean that getting to and staying at the Sunborn couldn’t be easier.
Built with the requirements of business and leisure guests alike in mind, the Sunborn offers the very best in modern facilities. With 102 stylish Yacht Suites and two luxury Royal Suites, all beautifully appointed, a sojourn on board is a must. The spacious and elegant Yacht Suites average 30 square meters in size and have been designed in line with international cruise liners, complete with Internet connection, full air-conditioning, en suite bathroom with shower, full room service, and the majority of the Yacht Suites have their own balcony. There are also a number of allergy-free suites.  Two lavish Royal Suites are located on the fourth deck, with separate living and bedroom areas.  Each Royal Suite also has access to a 20-metre terrace, and, in true Scandinavian style, has its own private sauna.
An extremely popular facility on board the Sunborn Yacht is The Captain’s Club.  A VIP meeting room for up to 15 people comes with its own bar, access to a 100 square metre terrace, complete with sauna, showers and changing room. Here the yacht’s Finnish origins make themselves felt; Scandinavian meetings are often accompanied by saunas and outdoor corporate entertainment, and the Sunborn is proud to be introducing the concept to London.  In addition the Sunborn also offers fully-equipped conference, meeting and seminar facilities. There are two fully interconnected conference rooms for 40- 80 delegates, and the Helsinki auditorium which seats up to 34 ‘theatre-style,’ and is equipped with the latest technology such as DVD, Dolby Surround-system and video projector, and the latest WLAN (Wireless Network) equipment.
The Sunborn Yacht also offers fabulous entertainment venues for all occasions, as well as providing residents and visitors with comfortable lounge and bar facilities. With its central lobby location, the Yacht Club is a popular and lively area which is ideal for relaxing and socialising. Guests can enjoy light snacks, refreshments and cocktails in a truly elegant yet contemporary setting. Summertime sees the opening of the Fifth Deck Bar; a lively top deck bar with magnificent views over the Royal Docks, which again is the perfect place for both unwinding and entertaining. The Sunborn plays host to many special occasions, from wedding receptions to banquets and private parties. The staff are specifically trained to make your event truly special.
The Fifth Deck gourmet restaurant is one of the highlights of the hotel, and is open to non-residents for luncheon, dinner, and events such as concert dinners. A stylish experience not to be missed, this fine dining restaurant with panoramic views serves delicious cuisine prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients for up to 100 diners, and during the warmer months also offers alfresco dining for up to 50. An extensive and imaginative a la carte menu offers food to equal that served in many of the capital’s fine dining establishments. The Sunborn Yacht’s ‘Signature’ set menu is no exception offering starters such as Cornish crab and smoked salmon rosettes with lemon chive dressing, and risotto of foie gras, wilted roquette and truffle oil; main courses include seared seabass on saffron mash and vegetable ratatouille, veal cutlet with honey-glazed root vegetables in a lemon and rosemary butter sauce, and the classic t-bone steak with French fries and Béarnaise sauce. A tempting selection of desserts such as glazed lemon tart with raspberry sorbet, warm dark chocolate fondant with white chocolate ice-cream and the chef’s selection of cheese and biscuits ensure your tastebuds will be satisfied.
With a host of leisure attractions little more than a stone’s throw away, the Sunborn could not be more ideally located. Greenwich, famous for the Cutty Sark and Greenwich Market, and Canary Wharf with its glistening skyscrapers and growing number of waterfront restaurants and shops, are easily accessible via the Docklands Light Railway or the hotel’s chauffeur service.  Bond Street is merely 25 minutes away via the Jubilee line - so there really is something for everyone.
General manager Laurent Brydniak is proud of the hotel’s high standards. “The Sunborn Yacht has an atmosphere of quiet luxury and comfort - the elegance of staying on board, or even attending a function here, guarantees a special occasion, whatever the occasion!”
