Kempinski Hotels & Resorts has signed the management contract for a leisure resort in Jordan, owned by the United Saudi Jordanian Hotels & Tourism Company, which is due to open by end 2004.  The resort, now under construction, is situated 50 km west of the country’s capital, Amman, on a 25-acre site, with direct access to the shores of the Dead Sea and its world renowned diving sites and therapeutic salt and mineral waters.  The Kempinski Ishtar Resort Hotel & Spa will comprise three sections set amidst gardens, lagoons, winding rivers, waterfalls and private pools.  The Royal Wing will house two VIP Royal Villas and Suite clusters totaling 44 large units. The Resort Wing will offer 90 spacious Executive Club Rooms and Suites, while the Central Pavilion will include restaurants and theme bars with live entertainment and private dining rooms.
There will be two outdoor garden bars (to service the beach and pool) and day dining restaurants in the gardens. The designer Wellness Spa & Sport Centre has its own 3000 m_ building including outdoor whirlpools, treated mud & fresh Dead Sea water floating pools, tennis and squash courts.
Guests at Kempinski’s new Dead Sea resort will be able to complement their visit to Jordan with a stay at the new Kempinski Hotel Amman, Jordan’s capital, through which most travellers to the region will transit.

Kempinski’s prestigious portfolio comprises luxurious properties in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America and Asia.  Each offers superior standards of service combined with a distinctive style reflecting the individuality of the property and its location.
