Dubai, 2003 - “Innovation not Imitation” is the maxim at MIX, Grand Hyatt Dubai`s one-stop, multi-level Entertainment Centre which is designed to offer guests several styles of entertainment all within one stylish environment.
MIX is situated adjacent to the hotel lobby, offering access from both inside the hotel as well as a dedicated exterior entrance where the evening starts with a personal welcome at the door by one of MIX`s female greeters. From there, guests are ushered into the lobby and on to their preferred area on MIX`s varying levels.
MIX`s younger crowd will inevitably head for the lower level, a vast area featuring the Middle East`s largest dance floor, overlooked by the Island Bar, a comfortable chill-out zone and dining area. Here, two resident DJ`s will entertain the club`s party crowd with a mixture of Western dance music, with additional nights featuring celebrity guest DJ`s from around the world. Personal appearances from international bands will also make up part of MIX`s upper level entertainment.
A modern Moroccan theme prevails in MIX`s overall interior décor from the high tented ceiling to the plush seating areas and even in MIX`s dining section, where guests are entertained by screens displaying the action on the dance floor, the menu features light, Moroccan `tapas.`
For those who prefer a more sedentary form of entertainment away from the dance area, look no further than a stool at the Island Bar where the cocktail list of over 160 includes 16 refreshing, citrus-based coolers designed exclusively for MIX.
From the dance area, stairs lead to MIX`s mezzanine level where the sophisticated Cigar Lounge is to be found. Here, the ambiance is that of an exclusive member`s club with waiter service and wood-panelled décor. The lounge is split into three intimate areas, the middle section housing cabinets incorporating 62 bottle lockers where regular guests can store drinks and cigars from one visit to the next.
On the upper level, integral to MIX`s spirit of offering guests a varied and original menu of nightly entertainment choices, is the sound-proofed Live Music Room, which swings into action later into the evening. The lounge offers the seclusion of an entirely separate venue, yet a large glass wall still allows guests a full view of the pulsating action on MIX`s lower levels. The Live Music Room is comfortably furnished with table seating, its own bar and waiter service as well as a stage area with the capacity to host larger groups of musicians. The style of music on offer at the Music Room promises to be a totally unique sound for Dubai, courtesy of bands flown in monthly from the United Kingdom.
For guests who wish to host a private party, yet still have access to all of MIX`s facilities, two private rooms on the mezzanine level are available for hire. Here, dinner from the hotels restaurants can be served by dedicated staff, for up to 15 guests in the rooms which include their own, sofas, chairs and tables.
