As part of their ongoing programme of improving customer service, Wyboston Lakes Limited has appointed Nishant Barua as the site’s new operations manager, with special responsibilities for food and beverages.
Nishant has a strong track record in the area of corporate hospitality and events, working first at the Hilton London, and then for Holiday Inn. His new role at Wyboston includes managing both front and back of house, staff recruitment and maintaining the stringent standards already in place. One of his first main tasks has been to get Wyboston’s impressive new café/ bar open for business.
Asked what he brings to Wyboston, Nishant’s reply is enthusiastic. “A fresh and different approach!” he says. “The business here is already highly successful and I don’t want to rush changes, but I do want to utilise fully the hospitality skills and knowledge of procedures that I’ve gained whilst working for internationally renowned hotel groups.”
Nishant is a firm believer that building solid customer relationships is vital and he is actively recruiting new staff with a hospitality background. “All my working life has been focused on customer service,” he explains, “and I’m very keen to recruit like-minded people from the industry who are used to delivering services to the highest standards and who are familiar with quality issues.” This sentiment is certainly in keeping with Wyboston’s own philosophy - they recently retained their Hospitality Assured accreditation for the fourth consecutive year. This prestigious award, acknowledged as the industry’s premier benchmark for service excellence, is currently held by only 55 UK companies.
Wyboston Lakes Limited is set in a 350 acre rural site near St Neots, midway between Cambridge and Bedford and is probably the largest independently owned conference venue in Europe. Two-thirds of the site’s custom is repeat business.
