HONG KONG, 30 July 2003. The Oriental Spa in Bangkok - one of the world`s first hotel spas to provide an all-encompassing spa experience with a focus on rejuvenation of the body, mind and spirit - this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. Regularly voted “Best Spa in the World” by Travel & Leisure magazine, as well as “Best Spa in Luxury Travel” by the Robb Report, Bangkok`s riverfront haven is consistently recognized for its award-winning combination of exotic Asian therapies, gracious Thai service and harmonious design elements.
An extension of the guest experience provided by legendary hotel, The Oriental, the spa was established in 1993 in a restored century-old teakwood house. Its approach to wellness is based on ancient Thai traditions that combine meditation and massage with healing Western techniques.  Whilst there are more than 50 treatments available and in celebration of its anniversary year, the spa is featuring its Top 10 restorative spa experiences that draw on traditional 2,000 year old herbal preparations:

1. Oriental Herbal Wrap
2. Oriental Body Glow

Each spa experience at the Oriental Spa takes place in one of the luxurious 14 spa suites accommodating singles and couples and self-contained with its own shower, steam room and washroom.  The Deluxe Spa suites and Oriental Spa suite have their own private sauna and jacuzzi.

The natural ingredients used in spa treatments draw on the inspiration and medical knowledge of ancient times.  Fragrant oils, aromatic herbs, even the juices of fruits and vegetables feature in these formulas.  Herbal formulas are added to protein-rich massage oils of sesame, olive and citronella to cleanse and stimulate skin and muscles.  Honey, mint and lavender are basis for an Oriental body glow, while a herbal wrap therapy contains over a dozen ingredients.  The natural ingredients are taken from herbs, vegetables and fruits grown on the hills in northern Thailand under the Royal Project which was initiated by His Majesty, the King of Thailand.
