WASHINGTON - July 23, 2003 - Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced today that it has retained mcgarrybowen to develop national advertising for many of the company’s lodging brands, including Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites and Fairfield Inn.

Mcgarrybowen is based in New York and will begin work immediately. The agency principals include John McGarry, former president of Young & Rubicam, and Gordon Bowen, former executive creative director for Ogilvy & Mather and McCann-Erickson.
With the addition of mcgarrybowen, Marriott will continue to utilize the company’s existing advertising and public relations agencies.
