Stately Crewe Hall Becomes a Marston

The Marston Hotels Group, the AA Hotel Group of the Year, expands yet again, with the acquisition of Crewe Hall, a majestic Stately building lovingly converted into a luxury hotel with 65 bedrooms, on the outskirts of Crewe in Cheshire.
Marston Hotels is one of England’s leading independent hotel companies with a portfolio of 15 predominantly 4 star hotels which operate across England [from Hythe on the English channel to York, and from Oxford to Winchester].
Commented Chairman, Chris Scragg, “Crewe Hall will be a fine addition to our quality portfolio and continue Marston Hotels reputation for first class hotels.”  Marston Hotels, current winner of the AA Hotel Group of the Year 2002 - 2003 and the RAC’s equivalent “Credit to the Industry” has a reputation in the industry for quality hotels combined with excellent service and hospitality.

Crewe Hall, once the seat of the Earls of Crewe and latterly owned by the Duchy of Lancaster is a superb Jacobean building in a parkland setting. The hotel has many historic features including one of the finest staircases in the country, as well as lavish Conference and Banqueting rooms and beautiful period bedrooms. The hotel, which is a Grade 1 historic building, has recently had an extension blessed by English Heritage, which provides further state of the art bedrooms, and a hi-tech Brasserie to complement the historic main building
“It is our intention to continue to grow the company”, commented Chris Scragg.  “We currently have a major £7 million extension and redevelopment nearing completion at our Hampshire Centrecourt hotel in Basingstoke, work is well underway at Cambridge with the building of a 120 bedroomed 4 star hotel and we also have two further sites for the building of 120 bedroomed 4 star hotels.
