Best Western Introduces Great Australian Drives

SYDNEY - Driving is undoubtedly the best way to explore every corner of Australia. So to help guests plan their motoring holiday,y Best Western Australia has included the most important things to see and do in a series of suggested, easily-followed itineraries - Great Australian Drives.


The Best Western Great Australian Drives program launched in 1999 has been very successful. To ensure this success continues, the Great Australian Drives have now been revamped and re-released with 11 new drives added.

Best Western now offers Great Australian Drives for all states including WA and Tasmania, with more to come soon.

The Great Australian Drives offer a series of suggested easy to follow, state by state travel itineraries for “Short Escapes” or extended “Breakaways” to help travellers plan their trip with reference to top attractions and activities for each region. Most drives are achievable within two to four days.


However, for the more adventurous the Drives also encompass all of the major national cross border touring routes, such as Great Ocean Road (Melbourne to Adelaide), Sydney to Brisbane, Melbourne to Sydney (via coast and inland routes), Outback Adventures (Alice Springs to Darwin) etc. Most of these drives will take at least 7 - 10 days to really enjoy the ride.

A sample of Great Australian Drives itineraries have been included in the new 2003/2004 Australian Accommodation Directory for the first time. These include distances, time required and Best Western locations. The handy distance table also assists you when planning your trip.
