Wyndham Appointments in New Orleans

Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR), has appointed James Szeszycki to general manager of the Bourbon Orleans - A Wyndham Historic Hotel, and Daniel McDonald to general manager of the Wyndham Metairie, both located in New Orleans. In their new positions, Szeszycki and McDonald will oversee daily operations of their respective hotels.
“Both James and Daniel bring such a broad scope of experience to their positions, with backgrounds in several areas of hotel operations, that I have no doubt they will succeed in their new roles,” said Gary Froeba, area director of operations for Wyndham. “Their diverse backgrounds will only strengthen Wyndham`s strong presence in the New Orleans market.”
Prior to his new position as general manager of the Bourbon Orleans, Szeszycki served as area director of food and beverage for eight Wyndham-branded hotels located in New Orleans, Alabama and Tennessee, as well as hotel manager for his home base hotel, the Wyndham New Orleans at Canal Place. Previous to that, Szeszycki worked as general manager of the Wyndham Riverfront in New Orleans, establishing the groundwork for a $1.5 million renovation and bringing service levels up to excellent ratings. Szeszycki began his Wyndham career as director of rooms division at the Wyndham New Orleans, serving in this capacity as the hotel underwent a brand conversion from a Westin property.
Prior to joining the Wyndham team, Szeszycki worked for upscale hotels companies including Ritz-Carlton, Omni Hotels and Sonesta Hotels & Resorts. He brings 18 years of diverse experience in all facets of hotel operations and sales.
Daniel McDonald brings more than 15 years of industry experience to his post as general manager of the Wyndham Metairie. McDonald joined Wyndham as director of housekeeping for the Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa in Telluride, Colo. He was promoted to director of operations for the former Wyndham Mountain Lodge, where he became responsible for all areas of operations and was actively involved in sales strategy and revenue management. Prior to joining Wyndham, McDonald served as assistant general manger at the Costanoa Lodge in the San Francisco area, where he was part of the grand opening team for the property. McDonald has served in various housekeeping, catering and front desk management capacities for properties in northern and central California including the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Sheraton Monterey and the Lodge at Pebble Beach. He began his hospitality career at the Sheraton Los Angeles International Airport, undergoing a management-training program to gain experience of overall hotel operations.
