InterContinental Hotels Group announces its new streamlined company structure comprising four geographical divisions across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and a supporting regional centre in the UK.
As part of the company reorganisation, David Hughes will lead the marketing team as Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Commercial. The new team will be part of the regional centre, driving revenue and brand performance across the region.
Simon Stringer, Director of Brand Management EMEA, will be responsible for the development of all brands. Mike Marshall is Director of Marketing Programmes EMEA and Brian Prescott will be Marketing Planning Director. The sales, revenue management and PR teams will also report into Hughes.

The four geographical divisions of the EMEA region are - UK & Ireland; Western & Southern Europe; Central & Eastern Europe; and Middle East & Africa. The regional centre, based in the UK, will support these divisions. It will provide fast and efficient core services to each of the four geographical divisions including legal, IT, human resources, development, franchising, quality, marketing and promotional resources. These divisions in turn will focus on delivering the very best service for guests to enhance their experience and exceed expectations.
Colin Roy will be the Marketing Director for the UK & Ireland division. Previously Director Revenue Management UK & Ireland, Roy will be responsible for tactical marketing in the UK & Ireland.
David Hughes was formerly InterContinental Hotels Group’s Senior Vice President for Strategy in the EMEA region and has worked for the company since January 2001. Prior to that, David spent five years at J Sainsbury working in the strategic management group. He began his career as a management consultant with KPMG.
