Golden Tulip Targets Central America

Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts is proud to announce the opening of its new office in Mexico City. Golden Tulip has appointed two dedicated specialists as per 1st May 2003 to support the development of the brand. Adriana Restrepo joins Golden Tulip as the regional director for Mexico bringing along 12 years of experience with Utell International, one of Golden Tulip’s suppliers of reservation business. Maria Helena Quiriga Ortiz also joins Golden Tulip with a background in operations, sales and marketing from Utell.

Currently Golden Tulip has four hotels in the Central American and Caribbean region, however the group sees great potential for developing the region. The main potential of Central America is seen in Mexico, whilst the smaller countries are forecast to become interesting in the long term. In addition, the Mexican office will also target the northern countries of South America, such as Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela and Ecuador. At present the region is being developed with a main focus on Brazil from Golden Tulip’s Sao Paulo office. There are currently 14 hotels in Brazil, one hotel in Santiago de Chile, Chile and one hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
