Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX: WBR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheldon Suga to general manager of the Wyndham Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino in San Juan, P.R. In his new position Suga will oversee all day-to-day operations of the 570-room hotel and casino.
“We`ve noted Sheldon`s expertise in directing regional operations, and felt that he would be a good fit with one of our signature Puerto Rico hotels,” said Jay Litt, senior vice president of operations, eastern region. “Sheldon`s industry expertise will only help elevate the hotel and brand`s reputation further.”

Suga, who brings more than 30 years of experience to his new post, began his career with Sheraton, holding numerous positions within the brand, including general manager for properties throughout the world. Prior to his most recent Sheraton post, general manager of the 780-room Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel, he managed properties in Los Angeles and Halifax, among others. While in Tokyo, he sat on both the American and Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, and was also a member of the SKAL Club of Tokyo. He strongly believes in being part of the community. In 2002 Wyndham named Suga director of operations for the Atlanta area, as well as general manager for the 312-room Wyndham Atlanta. He managed eight Wyndham-branded hotels, creating synergies between these properties, as well as establishing Wyndham`s focus in the market.
