Hyatt to Take Over Swissotel Boston

Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced today that it will assume management of the four-star, four-diamond Swissotel Boston, effective June 26, 2003. The hotel will be renamed Hyatt Regency Boston Financial District and undergo a multi-million dollar renovation beginning in late-2003. The renovation will focus on guest rooms and restaurants; while maintaining the hotel`s traditional charm.


The property will continue to be owned by Host Marriott Corporation.

Hyatt Regency Boston will be the 208th Hyatt property worldwide and the third property in the Boston area. Hyatt Regency Boston joins Hyatt Harborside, at Boston`s Logan International Airport and Hyatt Regency Cambridge, situated on the Charles River.

Centrally located in the heart of Boston`s financial district, the 500-room property is just one block from Boston Common and adjacent to the Lafayette Corporate Center. The inviting lobby welcomes guests with antiques, marble floors and Waterford Crystal chandeliers. Spacious guest rooms, including 26 suites, feature classic European furnishings with city and atrium views. Regency Club floors will offer exclusive services including access to a private lounge offering breakfast, hors d`oeuvres and cocktails.

The 22-story hotel also caters to group and conference attendees with 18,000 square feet of finely appointed meeting space for up to 900. The space includes 17 function rooms and a 5,046 square foot Grand Ballroom with natural light and outdoor terrace. All rooms are wired for video conferencing and internet access.

The hotel features an elegant full service restaurant and lobby bar. Guests can also relax at the indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna, sun deck or take advantage of the state-of-the-art fitness facilities.
David Nadelman, a 23-year Hyatt veteran has been named as the General Manager of the forthcoming Hyatt Regency Boston. Most recently Nadelman has served as the General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque.
