InterContinental Donates to Support American Troops

InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG) (ADRs), the world`s most global hotel company, announced today that it will further its support of America`s troops and their families by donating one percent of its revenue from rooms booked under its government rate to the USO (United Service Organizations).
To participate in the automatic donation program, travelers eligible for the government rate can reserve rooms at more than 2,500 hotels participating in the government rate program, including, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites hotels, by booking through http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/militaryfamily or http://www.uso.org/ .
“We are very enthused about InterContinental Hotels Group`s ongoing commitment to provide support to military personnel and their families,” said USO President and CEO Edward A. Powell. “Their generous donation will help support our morale-boosting programs for service members and their families around the world.”

Stevan Porter, President of InterContinental Hotels Group - Americas added, “We want to do everything we can to show our troops that we care and to help them during these challenging times. “We know family members of military put a premium on spending quality time with their loved-ones, wherever they are stationed around the globe.”
This initiative is an extension of IHG`s ongoing military and government program, which provides lodging assistance to families of the men and women serving our country. As announced last month, IHG broadened the company`s current government program to encompass military personnel`s immediate family members through April, 2004, and is available at hotels currently offering the government rate—across all IHG brands—in the continental U.S. Additionally, now all military or military family members staying under the government rate are eligible for Priority Club Rewards points or miles.

For 62 years, the USO has provided programs and services to enhance the quality of life for military personnel and their families stateside and overseas. A private, nonprofit organization, the USO relies on donations from individuals and corporations to support its programs.
