Glasgow Marriott Celebrates Witches

WASHINGTON - When the long-awaited fifth installment of the Harry Potter series makes its debut on June 21, wizards, witches and muggles (non-wizards for those who haven’t read the Harry Potter books) of all ages can gather at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel to celebrate. The hotel is planning a very special family weekend package on June 20 & 21, including two days and one night’s accommodations, breakfast for four and tickets to the Glasgow Science Centre for $301 (£192). The highlight of the evening; the new Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will be delivered to guest rooms at 12:01 AM on June 21.
While in Glasgow, families can take the same journey Harry Potter and his friends took to Hogwarts in the two Harry Potter movies. The Hogwarts Express journey was filmed on the West Highland Railway, which runs from Glasgow to Fort William. Over moors, around mountains, through glens and alongside rivers and lochs, this breathtaking ride is one of the best ways to see the Scottish countryside.

The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is located just off the J19 and M8 highways, and is a short walk from the city center. Each of the 300 rooms offers complimentary tea and coffee, satellite TV, phone service with voicemail and either one king or two queen beds. In addition, the hotel has an extensive fitness center with an indoor heated pool. Complimentary parking is available. For dining, the hotel has two restaurants, Chats Café Bar (American) and Mediterrano (Mediterranean). Pizza Hut and TGI Fridays restaurants are close by.

The Glasgow Science Centre (GSC), which is one mile from the Glasgow Marriott Hotel, is Scotland’s flagship Millennium Project. Housed in three stunning buildings at Pacific Quay on the Clyde, GSC brings science and technology to life through hundreds of interactive exhibits in the Science Mall and the unique experiences of the GSC IMAX® Theatre and the Glasgow Tower.
Reservations for the package can be made by contacting the hotel directly, through a travel agent or by calling your local Marriott reservations number.

The Glasgow Marriott Hotel, along with over 2,200 Marriott-affiliated hotels worldwide, participates in Marriott Rewards, the guest reward program that allows members to earn their choice of points or airline miles for dollars spent during each stay.
