- Choice Hotels International (NYSE:CHH), one of the world`s largest hotel franchisors, held a ribbon cutting and reception to showcase its newly renovated Grand Junction Reservation Call Center, located at 2697 Highway 50 here on Tuesday, March 4.

Wayne Wielgus, senior vice president, marketing for Choice Hotels; Tom Mirgon, senior vice president, human resources and administration, and Janna Morrison, senior vice president, franchise services, were on hand for the event along with Debbie Fox, senior director of Grand Junction Call Center Operations and Don Brockway, vice president, reservations operations.
“As one of two Choice `mega` reservation centers, the Grand Junction Call Center is a lifeline for Choice Hotels,” said Senior Vice President Wielgus. The Grand Junction Call Center receives more than five million calls a year through the CHOICE 2001 reservation system, the most advanced technology in the lodging industry with an instantaneous worldwide link to all properties in the Choice system, as well as global distribution systems Galileo, SABRE, Worldspan and AMADEUS
The Grand Junction Call Center, which handles almost 50 percent of the calls for Choice worldwide reservations, employs 400 people and generates a payroll in excess of $7.5 million. Choice Hotels also operates a reservation call center in Minot, North Dakota.
In addition to booking reservations at Choice Hotels worldwide, the Grand Junction Call Center houses the Choice Service Center for Choice Hotels` frequency marketing programs, the Choice Cares Line, which assists franchisee hotels and their guests in times of disaster, and the International Desk, which facilitates reservations for non-English speaking people.
