Jackson Hewitt Brings In-Mall Storefronts and Kiosks To Nation`s Second Largest Mall Owner Locations
Jackson Hewitt Inc., a subsidiary of Cendant Corporation (NYSE:CD) and the nation`s fastest-growing tax preparation service, announced a new partnership with General Growth Management, Inc., the second largest owner, developer and manager of malls in the U.S., that will bring tax preparation storefronts and kiosks to select shopping centers throughout the tax season.
The alliance will enable the placement of in-mall Jackson Hewitt Tax Service locations in select General Growth malls, along with exclusive marketing rights to promote tax preparation services via on-mall print and electronic advertising, mall Internet advertising, mall telephone information sponsorships, coupons and the dissemination of other promotional materials. In addition, more than 5,000 General Growth mall employees will receive a discount on tax preparation services at any of the more than 4,100 Jackson Hewitt Tax Service locations nationwide.
Last year, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service prepared more than 2.5 million taxpayer income tax returns through traditional storefront locations and retail-partner locations. With location placement in 30 malls, the products and services provided by Jackson Hewitt Tax Service will be available to the more than 80 million mall visitors expected over the course of the three and a half month tax season period.
“We`ve had great success in providing our services to mall and other retail location visitors across the country,” said Michael Lister, President and Chief Operating Officer, Jackson Hewitt Inc. “This new partnership allows us to extend that exposure and bring increased value and convenience to General Growth`s mall visitors.”
“The value of this alliance appropriately extends to the employees of all General Growth mall locations through our discounted tax preparation service offering,” added Jeffrey Lininger, Vice President, Business Development, Jackson Hewitt, Inc. “It`s a great way for Jackson Hewitt and General Growth Management Inc. to extend the relationship through a significant and timely employee benefit.”
