Switzerland Comes to the Bosphorus

At the end of February the Swiss hotel chain, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, celebrated the opening of its first hotel in Turkey. The 5-star “Boutique Business Hotel” is situated in the commercial area of 4 Levent and is offering both business clientele and also tourists first-class service in a central location.
The 249 rooms, including 71 Executive rooms, 21 Superior suites as well as the Skyline Suite, all of which are tailored towards the requirements of businesspeople, are characterised and coloured by functional and contemporary design. Extra-large desks, Internet access and spacious safes, which can even accommodate laptops, offer a modern working ambience over an area of 35 m2, which is also just as inviting for the purposes of resting and relaxing.
All manner of conferences and every imaginable type of banquet can also be competently catered for in the new Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul. A ballroom on the ground floor covering 520 m2 can be used for banquets accommodating 360 guests or it serves as an auditorium with 500 seats. It can also be easily and swiftly transformed into three smaller conference rooms. A junior ballroom, 108 m2 in size, and 7 conference rooms accommodating 12-70 visitors complete the conference facilities and, with their state-of-the-art technology such as remote-controlled audio-video systems, they are the perfect guarantee for the staging of successful events.

A second guarantee is that the hotel’s “Restaurant Azzur”, offering Mediterranean-style cuisine perfected with the culinary know-how à la Mövenpick, is destined to become a trend-setting address in the pulsating metropolis of Istanbul. The inviting “Baradox” Bar is the place for a relaxing drink after work or for a pre-dinner aperitif. And it goes without saying that it also serves its guests Mövenpick Premium Ice-Cream and Mövenpick coffee.
Guests can relax and forget all their cares in the hotel’s own Health Club. This boasts a modern fitness centre with cardio-vascular training equipment, an indoor swimming-pool, sauna jacuzzi and the club also offers therapeutic massage treatments. The covered car park situated in front of the hotel has room for 150 vehicles. Thanks to its location in the heart of Istanbul’s modern business quarter, the new hotel is swiftly and easily reached from Atatürk International Airport via the trans-European motorway, which also links up with the Asiatic side of the city. And the Underground station in front of the hotel enables guests to get to the lively hustle and bustle on Taksim Square in just 10 minutes. A taxi ride of only 20 minutes takes them to the magic of the historic Old City and the Grand Bazaar.
“The new Mövenpick hotel at the junction of two continents shows a face and character that is modern, innovative and trendy”, so says Richard Appelbaum, General Manager of the hotel. “Our luxurious business hotel has most certainly got a great deal to offer individual tourists, too, as all the sights of fascinating Istanbul are easily and quickly accessible from our doorstep. And to crown it all, our top-class culinary delights succeed in bringing a little bit of Switzerland to the Bosphorus.”
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is currently represented with 48 hotels in 14 countries and focuses on two hotel types, the business and conference hotel and the holiday resort.
