New Conference Centre:
Bookings for venues at our new showpiece,ÊJacaranda View, are open from 1 June 2003.Ê In addition to a ramp, allowing for vehicle access to the ballroom (perfect for motor launches and spectacular entertainment), special features and talking points include state-of-the-art audio visual and IT equipment alongside the elegance of interior finishes and furnishings like gleaming mahogany French-polished boardroom tables.Ê In association with interior designer Graham Viney, the venues have been named to honour the architectural and historic heritage embodied in the Sir Herbert Baker-style building and include:Ê The Arcadia Ballroom, Pre-assembly area and Terrace, The Rand Room (private bar) and the Africa Boardroom.Ê The two Executive Breakaway Rooms have been named the Highveld and Bamboo Rooms respectively.ÊÊ Jacaranda View will provide a venue for private or corporate entertaining in the grand manner evocative of the Rand in its heyday and will be surrounded by splendidly landscaped gardens which have become the hallmark of the hotel.Ê Set on the high ground above Jacaranda View, the Summer Terrace will make a perfect andÊelegant setting for garden weddings or outdoor parties.Ê From this vantage point guests will be able to enjoy spectacular views across the Zoological Gardens, The Rand Regiments` Memorial and the well-forested gardens of the Saxonwold.

Good news for travel partners planning detailed itineraries for clientele, is that La Belle Terrasse now offers both a a Prix Fixe lunch and dinner menu for two and three courses.Ê Prix Fixe Prices:Ê Lunch (2 courses): R145,Ê Lunch (3 courses) R170, Dinner (2 courses) R200 and Dinner (3 courses): R250.Ê Prices are per person and exclude beverages.Ê Diners dedicated toÊcaviar and lobster will be pleased to know that a small section menu has been retained for these Classic Favourites.

New Faces:
The Westcliff Hotel is pleased to welcome Pierre Delfau who joined as Rooms Division Manager in January 2003. Although French by birth, Pierre has spent 20 years in South Africa where he completed his education and training. His hotel experience includes stints at various Southern Sun and Sun International properties throughout South Africa. Prior to joining The Westcliff Pierre spent two years as Rooms Division Manager at The Palace Hotel at Sun City.Ê
Daintry Nienaber and Ulrike Schmidt will also be joiningÊThe Westcliff atÊthe beginning of March in their respective roles as Banqueting Manager and Executive SalesÊManager.ÊÊDaintry will be taking over from Banqueting Manager, Shamila Manulal, who has been promoted to Banqueting Sales Manager.. Prior to joiningÊanother 5-star deluxe property, The Saxon, Daintry ran her own restaurant and wedding catering business.Ê Ulrike is well-known in the local travel industry, havingÊbuilt up a wealth of experience at Ilanga Travel, Avis andÊAberkrombie and Kent during her career since relocating to South Africa from GermanyÊ13 years ago.Ê
