Le Meridien Launches Leisure Showcase

Luxury global hotel group Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is organising two International Leisure Showcases for UK-based tour operators in London at Le Meridien Russell on March 4 and at Le Méridien Palace in Manchester on March 5, 2003.
“These free events will be a first for Le Méridien,” said Robbie Bishop, vice president sales - UK & Africa. “We will have more than 50 hotels and resorts from around the world representing long and short haul destinations and over the course of the two days we expect more than 500 attendees.
“Each showcase will be divided into two sessions. The first session will be a lunch followed by a workshop for contract managers. In the evening there will be an informal session with a buffet and entertainment, which will be an ideal opportunity for reservation staff to meet the representatives from the hotels and familiarise themselves with our properties, including many award winning resorts.”
During 2002 new Le Méridien hotels and resorts opened in Canada, Dubai, Egypt, Germany, Kuwait and the Seychelles, some offering specialist facilities such as golf and diving. More than 10 new openings are currently planned for 2003 with other developments in the pipeline.
