The votes are in and top travellers from 34 countries have named The Peninsula Bangkok the “Best Asia/Pacific City Hotel” in the “2002 Gallivanter’s Awards of Excellence”. The results were announced in the January 2003 issue of the highly-regarded international newsletter for dedicated travellers, The Gallivanter’s Guide.
The Peninsula Bangkok has now claimed the No. 1 position in the Asia/Pacific City Hotel category in three of the last four years.
“The Peninsula Bangkok and Hong Kong tend to win this section every year; this time Bangkok takes pole position with an increase of 8.5% from last year,” said the Guide.
“Everyone at The Peninsula Bangkok is extremely proud to reclaim the title of the Best City Hotel in Asia/Pacific. The high ranking given to us by subscribers of The Gallivanter’s Guide is valuable recognition of our efforts to provide the best possible hotel experience for our guests,” says The Peninsula Bangkok’s General Manager, Mr Ian Michael Coughlan.
Every year, The Gallivanter’s Guide polls subscribers in 34 countries, asking them to vote for their favourite hotels and resorts worldwide. These votes represent the views of the world’s top travellers, and as such, set the international standard for excellence.
“Because The Gallivanter’s Guide is completely independent, accepts no advertising nor permits any hotel or resort to pay to be included within its pages, the results of our annual reader poll can be relied upon to be wholly unbiased and accurate,” said Mr David Maslin, Managing Director of The Gallivanter’s Guide.
