The Oberoi, Mauritius Declared

In keeping with The Group`s award-winning tradition, The Oberoi, Mauritius recently won an international award launched for the first time by Harpers & Queen. The magazine, published in London launched their first Travel Awards earlier this month The Oberoi, Mauritius was declared the joint winner in the Hotel/Resorts category featuring “150 Best Places on Earth”. Mr. William Dalrymple, internationally acclaimed writer and historian presented the prestigious award at a function held in London earlier this month.
The publication invited recommendations from their experts - their contributors, comprising of top photographers, models, writers, travel specialists and jet-setting celebrities. According to Harpers and Queen Travel Editor, “At Harpers, we are constantly on the hunt for that perfect beach, heavenly hotel or ultimate holiday idyll to recommend to our readers. The questionnaire sent to select impassioned travelers, resulted in a remarkable consensus.”


Nestled in the idyllic Baie Aux Tortues on the northwest coast of Mauritius, The Oberoi reflects a rich multicultural heritage, blending stone, wood and thatch in twenty acres of resplendent sub-tropical gardens.
