Integration of Lodging.com Inventory

As part of its new and growing Business Builders® program, Galileo International, a leading global distribution system (GDS), today announced it is offering Lodging.com inventory to its U.S. travel agents via the Galileo e-Agent? portal as a powerful tool to increase revenue while providing hotel room discounts of 10 to 70 percent for their customers.

By booking Lodging.com inventory, Galileo-connected agents in the U.S. earn a 10 percent commission and can offer their customers discounts at more than 4,000 hotels in 500 markets.

“We are excited to be adding our inventory to the already robust hotel offerings that Galileo provides its customers,” said William Marbach, vice president of sales for Lodging.com. “We expect this additional distribution channel to contribute to the steady growth of Lodging.com while enhancing sales for our partner properties and travel agencies, and, ultimately, providing consumers with extremely competitive pricing and at the broadest range of hotels possible.”

“Galileo has a unique ability to leverage Cendant’s many travel brands to provide our clients access to great values and inventory,” explains Mitch Gross, executive vice president of Galileo’s America’s region. “Our customers are very enthusiastic about Lodging.com because our integration allows them to book discounted rooms at recognized branded properties at the same time they book other travel needs. Travelers get better rates, resulting in enhanced customer loyalty while agents get important commissions.”

Lodging.com’s inventory is being fully integrated into Galileo’s Apollo® system, and may currently be accessed via the Galileo e-Agent portal directly from Galileo’s desktop solutions, Focalpoint? and Viewpoint?.
