Hilton Garden Inn Announces Promotions

Hilton Garden Inn® announced today the promotion of Dawn Berry to vice president, hotel performance support - Hilton Garden Inn and Mark Nogal to vice president, marketing - Hilton Garden Inn, effective immediately. Both most recently held management positions for the Hilton Garden Inn brand with Berry serving as the senior director, hotel performance support and Nogal serving as the senior director, marketing.

Power and Associates award for Hilton Garden Inn in the category for mid-priced hotels with full service in 2002.”


Berry began her hotel career in 1989 as assistant director - front office operations at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix, Ariz., and later joined the Pointe Hilton Resort on South Mountain as the director of front office operations. In 1996, she held the position of executive assistant manager at the Hilton San Francisco, and moved on to become the general manager for the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco Airport North in 1999. Berry arrived at Hilton Hotels Corporation in 2000 as the director of openings and conversions and was promoted to senior director of hotel performance support in 2001. She holds an Associate arts degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point and completed travel industry coursework at Southeastern Travel College in Kissimmee, Fla.


A 26-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Nogal has been involved in the Hilton Garden Inn brand since it`s re-launch in 1996. He started his career with Hilton Hotels Corporation at the Hilton New Orleans Airport in New Orleans, La., and then worked for Hyatt in various positions. He rejoined Hilton in 1987 as rooms division director for the Hilton hotels in Philadelphia, Pa., and Albany, NY and in 1989, Nogal became the regional director of marketing for the northeast regional office. He later served as director of franchise and product line marketing for Hilton Hotels Corporation from 1995 through 2000 and has since held the senior director of marketing position for the Hilton Garden Inn brand. Nogal`s educational background includes hotel restaurant and tourism at the University of New Orleans and architecture at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.


Hilton Garden Inn has received the distinguished “Highest Guest Satisfaction Among Mid-Price Hotel Chains with Full Service” award in the J.D. Power and Associates 2002 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction StudySM. Hilton Garden Inn developments represent one of the cornerstones of Hilton`s franchise growth strategy.
