Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheldon Suga to area director of operations for the Atlanta area. Suga brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the post, most recently as president of his own consulting firm.
Based in Atlanta, Suga will oversee Area One, which includes the Wyndham Atlanta, where he will also serve as general manager; Wyndham Midtown Atlanta; Wyndham Vinings; Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center; Wyndham Garden Hotel - Perimeter Center; Summerfield Suites by Wyndham

Buckhead; Summerfield Suites by Wyndham - Atlanta/Perimeter; and the Wyndham Garden Hotel - Charlotte. Suga`s responsibilities will focus on managing and creating synergies between these properties, as well as establishing Wyndham`s focus in the market.

“Sheldon`s vast industry knowledge and expertise will bring a fresh outlook to the region,” said Jay Litt, Wyndham`s senior vice president of operations, eastern region. “His strategic vision and global experience are a good fit with Wyndham`s brand philosophy.”

Suga, who began his career with Sheraton, held numerous positions within the brand, including general manager for properties throughout the world. Prior to his most recent Sheraton post, general manager of the 780-room Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel, he managed properties in Los Angeles and Halifax, among others. While in Tokyo, he sat on both the American and Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, and was also a member of the SKAL Club of Tokyo.
