Ramada International Hotels & Resorts, a division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR), announced the opening of its second hotel in Australia. The 175-suite Ramada Plaza Pier Hotel & Suites, in the Glenelg area of Adelaide, South Australia, joins the Ramada Melbourne in Ramada International’s Australian portfolio. The hotel is was developed by Urban Construct Pty. Ltd. and is owned and operated by a subsidiary of this group, Pier Hotel Operations Pty. Ltd. of Adelaide, under a franchise agreement with Ramada International.
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia. Glenelg is a popular beach area and features a wide range of dining and entertainment options. Ramada Plaza Pier Hotel & Suites is located on the beachfront and is next to a large marina.
For dining and entertainment, the hotel has six restaurants and lounges, including Australian, Thai and Italian restaurants, a coffee shop, a lounge and a front bar. The hotel features an indoor swimming pool, spa amenities, sauna, steam room, fitness room, gift shop and gaming room for guests’ enjoyment.
For meetings and social events, the Ramada Plaza Pier Hotel & Suites offers three conference rooms, which can accommodate groups from 100 people to 50 people and range in size from 81 square meters to 50 square meters.
