Christopher R. Perry has been named director of sales and marketing for the Hilton New York effective immediately. His responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of room sales from all key business segments in addition to setting marketing and advertising strategies for the property. Perry most recently served as vice president of marketing and sales for the Boutique Hotel Group in New York, overseeing three to five star boutique urban and resort properties located in New York City and the Caribbean.
With more than 17-years of experience in the hospitality industry, Perry`s career began in 1985 as the regional sales manager for Wyndam Hotels and Resorts. He has held various positions with prominent hospitality organizations in New York, including Savoy Hotels and Resorts and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. In 1989, he joined Hilton Hotels Corporation as the assistant director of sales for The Waldorf Astoria® in New York City, and then as director of marketing and sales for the Atlanta Airport Hilton. Perry returned to The Waldorf=Astoria in 1994 as the director of sales in which he was responsible for directing group and individual business travel which represented 80 percent of total room revenue generated. He left The Waldorf=Astoria in 1997, where he served as regional director of sales and marketing for the northeast region with Six Continents Hotels until 2001.
Perry received a bachelor of science degree from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
Active in a variety of industry organizations, Perry`s affiliations include the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association, American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI). He is also active as an Executive Advisory Board Member of HotelRevMax.
