Frederick J. Kleisner, Elected To Interstate Hotels’ Board Of Directors

At the annual stockholders meeting of Interstate Hotels Corporation (Nasdaq:IHCO), held on July 18, 2000, Frederick J. Kleisner was elected to serve as a Class C Director on Interstate’s Board of Directors. Kleisner is President and Chief Executive Officer of Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE:WYN).
According to Thomas F. Hewitt, Interstate’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, “we are pleased to have Fred join our Board. He will bring with him the insight, wisdom and knowledge that he has gathered over what has been a highly impressive and proven 35-year career in the hotel industry. He, of course, knows Interstate well having once been a senior executive with the Company.”

Kleisner joined Wyndham in 1999 as president and chief operating officer. He was named chief executive officer in March 2000. He previously served as president and chief operating officer of The Americas for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Hotel Group. His more than 35 years of experience in the industry also includes senior positions with Westin Hotels and Resorts, where he was president and chief operating officer; Interstate Hotels, where he was executive vice president and group president of operations; The Sheraton Corporation, where he was senior vice president, director of operations, North America Division-East; and Hilton Hotels, where he was general manager of several landmark hotels, including The Waldorf Astoria and The Waldorf Towers in New York.
