Starwood Expands Westin Brand With New $23 Million Canadian Ski Resort

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced the opening of the $23 million Westin Resort, Tremblant at Mont-Tremblant, located 75 miles north of Montreal, Quebec. The 126-suite, five-star resort features more than 4,100 sq. ft. of meeting space and is managed by Intrawest (NYSE: IDR), with Westin providing sales, marketing and Westin brand support through a franchise agreement.

The Quebecois-inspired Westin Resort, Tremblant is located in the heart of Tremblant`s pedestrian alpine village and offers 126 suites featuring a fireplace, Westin`s signature, all white Heavenly Bed(TM) and oversized bathrooms. Additional services and amenities include a full-service European beauty spa, fitness facilities, expansive meeting space, therapeutic outdoor swimming pool and ski valet. Tremblant is not only recognized throughout North America for its first class winter installations, but also for the diversity of activities offered to visitors throughout the rest of the year, including championship golf, fishing and water sports in Lake Tremblant and more than 50 km of hiking and biking trails.
