Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE:WYN) today announced that Don Welsh has been named senior vice president of sales.
In this position, Welsh will oversee sales initiatives for all of Wyndham`s proprietary brands, including Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Grand Bay Hotels and Resorts, Summerfield Suites, and Sierra Suites.

Welsh joins Wyndham from MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, where he was responsible for all sales, marketing and brand development for the MGM Grand Las Vegas and the new MGM Grand Detroit. Prior to MGM, Welsh was the vice president of worldwide sales for Westin Hotels & Resorts, overseeing all of Westin`s managed and franchised properties. He also served as the corporate director of marketing programs for Westin Hotels & Resorts—North America. His 24 years in the travel industry also includes positions as the corporate director of marketing, overseeing the opening of 17 Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and vice president of Hawaii-Pacific.
