Omni Hotels announced today that they will join forces with Pegasus Commission Processing, a service of Pegasus Systems that offers travel agents the benefits of consolidated commission payments and processing services. As a member of the travel industry`s largest provider of travel agent commission and processing services, Omni Hotels has made yet another commitment to become more travel agent friendly.
“By joining forces with other hotel companies worldwide, via Pegasus Commission Processing, we enable travel agents to receive their commissions from thousand of hotels around the world in one consolidated payment,” said Paul Dietzler, vice president of information technology and finance. “Travel agents are important to us, and adopting these services shows Omni Hotels commitment to them.”
Omni Hotels is one of 65 hotel companies, representing more than 23,000 contracted properties, to employ the services of Pegasus Commission Processing. In addition to consolidated commission payments, agencies also receive total automated commission management through Pegasus` revolutionary reconciliation service. This service allows 78,000 participating travel agencies to reconcile hundreds of commissions in seconds. The reconciliation subscribers receive commission data on CD`s or diskettes that can be reconciled electronically via select back-office systems interfaces. Commissions can then be transferred for immediate access to funds, thereby reducingbank fees.
Omni Hotels` partnership with Pegasus Commission Processing is one of several company-wide initiatives to make Omni Hotels more “travel professional friendly.” Omni Hotels recently completed a four-week contest ending in March, where travel agents who booked Omni Hotels rooms through Sabre, Apollo, Worldspan or Amadeus were entered into weekly drawings. Five prizes were given away each week, totaling 20 prizes over the four-week period. Prizes ranged from $1000 in cash to four-nightvacation packages at Omni Hotels` top hotels and resorts.
In November of 1999, Omni Hotels upgraded its entire reservations system to a seamless environment. The new seamless system allows travel agents to look directly into Omni Hotels` reservations database and view detailed and concise real-time rates, room types and availability information. Travel professionals are able to view published and special negotiated rates up-to-the-minute, as well as confirm specific hotel room types.
