Omni Hotels Names New Chief Operating Officer

Michael J. Deitemeyer has been named chief operating officer for Irving, Texas-based Omni Hotels. He will oversee the company`s operational and financial functions. Deitemeyer most recently served as senior vice president of finance, a position he held from 1996 to 1999.

Deitemeyer served as controller for TRT Development Company and its hotel management company, Shoreline Operating Company, from 1992 to 1996. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing the company`s operating procedures and computer systems, overseeing the operating budgets and forecast models and managing financial analysis of all company acquisitions, including Omni Hotels. TRT acquired Omni Hotels in February 1996.


Deitemeyer began his career in the hospitality industry with Interstate Hotels Corporation in 1985. While there, he was involved in the opening and acquisition of several hotel properties.


A graduate of Fitchburg State College in Mass., Deitemeyer earned an undergraduate degree in business with a concentration in accounting. He lives in Southlake, Texas, with his wife, Sherri, and their two daughters.
