Omni Hotels Strike Gold With Conde Nast Traveler Gold List

Three Omni Hotels were named to Conde Nast Travelers prestigious Gold List for 1999 which rates the worlds best hotels. Veteran Gold List members the Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans, La., and the Omni Houston Hotel in Houston, Texas, were joined by newcomer the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona.
The magazines Gold List, published each January as part of Conde Nast Travelers Annual Travel Planner, ranks the top 500 hotels, resorts, spas and cruise lines in the world. In compiling the list, the magazine conducted surveys of its more than 37,000 readers, in addition to months of interviews.


The 346-room, AAA Four-Diamond Omni Royal Orleans, home to New Orleans famous Rib Room restaurant, was recognized for its luxurious guest rooms with vaulted ceilings, as well as its prime French Quarter location “near Jackson Square and Bourbon Street.”


Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Santa Catalina Mountains, the 167-room Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa was recognized for its “reputable golf course,” which has hosted players the likes of John Daly, Ben Crenshaw, Phil Mickelson and Nick Faldo. The magazine also noted the resorts “beautiful pools,” tennis club and luxuriousguest rooms which feature broad terraces for guests to enjoy unobstructed views of the nearby mountain ranges. The magazine also noted the resorts peaceful, leisure atmosphere and popular guest travel excursions to the desert and national forest.


The Omni Houston Hotels inclusion to Conde Nast Travelers Gold List rounds out a host of accolades the hotel has garnered through the years. A AAA Five Diamond hotel for more than 16 years, the 381-room Omni Houston Hotel has been recognized by Zagats as offering one of the finest hotel and dining experiences in all of Houston. Gold List voters noted the hotels “spacious and modern” guest rooms with “balconies overlooking the gardens” of Houston`s posh, Post Oak area. The magazine also paid homage to the hotels award-winning French restaurant, La Reserve, noting the restaurants elegant dining room décor and attentive waitstaff.
