Sol Meliá Increases Presence In Ski Resorts With A New Hotel In The Valle De Arán In The Pyrenees

Sol Meliá continues its growth in ski resorts with the addition of a new hotel in Vielha in the Valle de Arán in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees. The Sol Vielha (provisional name) is the company’s second hotel in this region of the Pyrenees and the seventh ski resort property in total.


Located in the centre of Vielha, capital of the Valle de Arán region, the hotel will provide 101 rooms, as well as a restaurant, cafeteria, health and beauty centre, indoor swimming pool and car park for 100 vehicles.


The Sol Vielha is owned by the Catalan company Covas Arnau .SA. and its construction is being supervised by Jaime Sirisi Castellv’. The hotel is scheduled to open in December 2002 for the winter 2002-2003 ski season.


After the purchase of Tryp Hotels and the addition of the Sol Vielha, Sol Meliá now provides seven ski resort hotels: the Meliá Sierra Nevada and Meliá Sol y Nieve (Granada), Tryp Roc de Caldes (Andorra), Meliá Formigal (Huesca, scheduled to open in October 2002) and Meliá Royal Tanau Boutique Hotel, Tryp Blanheu Tanau and Sol Vielha (Lérida).
