Sol Meliá has appointed Rafael Villanueva Baena as the company’s new Regional Sales Manager for Tunisia, a country in which the Spanish hotel management company operates 8 hotels with a total of 3,228 rooms.

Rafael Villanueva was born in 1966 in Badajoz. He is a graduate in Tourism Studies from the “Salduba” Tourism School in Zaragoza and has post-graduate qualifications in Hotel Management from the Madrid Polytechnic University.

Since 1993, Villanueva has been Sales Manager for a number of hotels in Zaragoza and has also been a lecturer at the “Salduba” Tourism School.

According to Rafael Villanueva, one of the main objectives of his new position will be to “enhance the image of Sol Meliá in Tunisia and the quality of the service we provide while achieving constant improvements in international sales “.

The appointment of Rafael Villanueva is part of wider Sol Meliá strategy of increasing the company’s presence in the Mediterranean region, in which the company currently operates 40 hotels in Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Greece, Turkey and Croatia.
