Sol Meliá Takes Over Two New Hotels In Galicia

On 4th. May, the Spanish hotel management company Sol Meliá signed two new franchise agreements to incorporate two hotels in Galicia: the Meliá Confort Los Galeones and the Meliá Confort Santiago, taking the number of hotels the Company offers in the Galician region to five.


The agreement to incorporate the four-star Meliá Confort Los Galeones, located in the city of Vigo, was signed with the company Turismo de Vigo S.A. 80 guest rooms and an excellent location in the centre of the city, along with an auditorium and several meeting rooms increase the facilities and services that Sol Meliá is able to offer Spanish business travellers.


An agreement was also signed with the company Torres de Compostela S.A. to incorporate the four-star Meliá Confort Santiago. The hotel is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in autumn of this year.


It will provide a total of 99 rooms, including a floor for non-smoking guests, and is widely expected to be the finest and most modern hotel in the city of Santiago.


According to the Executive Vice President of Sol Meliá‘s European City Division, Angel Palomino, “the incorporation of these two new hotels confirms our strategic expansion plans to gradually increase our range of city hotels in Spain, so that we are better able to fully respond to the needs of business travellers”. Sol Meliá currently operates more than 10,500 rooms in 52 city hotels in Spain.

The other three hotels the Company provides in Galicia are the Meliá Confort Coruña, the Sol Porto Cobo (A Coruña) and the Meliá Aragüaney in Santiago. The five hotels provide a total of 498 rooms and the range of hotel brands allows Sol Meliá to offer a full range of alternatives in the region to cater for the different needs and expectations of its guests.
